CFO Forum Appoints David Gamsey as Inaugural Board Chairman

The retired public-company CFO takes the chair as Atlanta's CFO community moves into its next decade.

The CFO Forum, Atlanta's pre-eminent community for chief financial officers, announced it has appointed David Gamsey as its inaugural Board Chairman. In this new role, Gamsey will help guide the Forum as it aims to expand its impact on Atlanta's business community and serve CFOs through the exchange of best practices, research, new opportunities and thought leadership.

The success of this community since its founding is a testament to the dedicated members of the Forum who care about prioritizing financial stewardship of Atlanta's business community, which in turn provides resilience to macroeconomic trends and strengthens our economy. As our influence has increased, we need experienced, respected, and thoughtful leadership at the board level. David Gamsey brings a track record of success that is well renowned and award winning, and we're confident in his ability to lead this important organization and grateful for his leadership and service.

Gamsey served as chief financial officer and executive vice president at First Advantage Corporation (NASDAQ: FA) from 2016 to 2024. In 2020, he received the Atlanta Business Chronicle's CFO of the Year Award as he helped lead First Advantage through a turnaround and subsequent sale to Silver Lake Partners. He also led the company's IPO in June 2021 and was the recipient of the CFO Forum's Preeminence Award in 2022.

Prior to First Advantage, Gamsey served as EVP and chief financial officer at Air Serv Corporation, a private equity-backed global leader in outsourced services to the airline industry. Following the sale of Air Serv to ABM Industries in 2012, he was promoted to chief operating officer, where he managed an organization of more than 12,000 employees with operations at 44 airports in the United States and 12 in the United Kingdom. Gamsey retired in December 2024.

I am honored, excited and energized to join this distinguished organization as its inaugural Chairman. I have participated in the CFO Forum for a number of years and watched it grow, flourish and add value to the CFO community. The outstanding professional leadership team of Chris White, Kristin Adams and Patrick Ward have built an outstanding organization. I am looking forward to working beside them to increase programming, grow our membership and provide even greater value to our Atlanta business community. We hope to introduce several new ideas and programs in the upcoming year.
