Who we are

The CFO Forum, LLC ("we," "us") is an Atlanta-based professional community and advisory practice. This page describes how we handle personal information and the terms governing our SMS (text messaging) program.

Information we collect

We collect business contact information — names, titles, company affiliations, business email addresses, and business phone numbers — provided directly by our members, event attendees, and business contacts, or gathered from publicly available professional sources. We use this information solely to operate our professional community and advisory services: event invitations, professional correspondence, and relationship management. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

SMS program description

Our SMS program is internal-use only. Text messages are sent exclusively to employees and principals of The CFO Forum, LLC who have requested them as part of our internal customer-relationship-management (CRM) system. Messages include contact-information lookups the employee has requested, confirmations of notes the employee has logged, and follow-up reminders. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we do not send text messages to clients, members, or the general public.

Message frequency varies with each employee's own usage (typically 1–10 messages per day that the employee initiates). Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of any purchase.

How consent is obtained (verbal consent script)

Each employee authorizes SMS messaging verbally during onboarding to the CRM system, using the following script:

"Our internal CRM system uses a company text-message line. If you opt in, you can text meeting notes and contact-lookup requests to the company number, and the system will reply to your mobile phone with the information you requested and with follow-up reminders. Message frequency depends on your own usage, and message and data rates may apply under your carrier plan. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and reply HELP for assistance. Do you consent to receive these messages on your mobile number?"

Only employees who answer affirmatively are added to the messaging allowlist, and each number is recorded with the date of consent.

Opt-out and help

Reply STOP to any message to opt out immediately; reply HELP for assistance or contact us at the address below. Opted-out numbers receive no further messages.

Data handling

Message logs are retained for internal record-keeping within our CRM. Mobile numbers and consent records are accessible only to The CFO Forum, LLC personnel. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with or sold to third parties.
